المعاهد التقنية العليا هي مؤسسات تقنية في مستوى التعليم العالي تقدم مقررات دراسية ذات طبيعة تطبيقية علمية وفنية، ومدة الدراسة أقصر مما هو عليه في الجامعات والكليات التقنية، حيث يحتاج الطالب للحصول على درجة الدبلوم العالي مدة تقدر بثلاث سنوات.تعمل إدارة المعاهد القنية العليا على تطوير مهارات خريجي المعاهد التقنية العليا لتتوافق مع متطلبات التقنية الحديثة ومعايير الجودة المحلية والعالمية من خلال تجويد العملية التعليمية والإدارية وبما يتناسب ومعايير الاعتماد المحلية والدولية.جميع المعاهد التقنية العليا المنتشرة في ربوع وطننا الحبيب بمختلف تخصصاتها تعمل على تأهيل الخريجين ليكونوا ملمين بالتقنيات العلمية الحديثة، بالإضافة لمواكبة عمليات التصنيع الحديثة وتصميم وتشغيل المصانع والمنظومات الصناعية.
